    The SRG offers several scholarships in an effort to encourage the continuing education of young people with an interest in fields relating to the rubber and plastics industry.

    The John D. Dodd Memorial Scholarship

    Established in 1973 to honor the memory of Mr. John Dodd after his passing in 1972. This award has a value of $2,000.00.

    The SRG Endowment Fund Scholarship

    Established in 1988 to increase the SRG's contribution to education. This award has a value of $2,000.00.

    The LORD Corporation Education Scholarship

    Established in 2010 in accordance with Lord Corporation's commitment to promote the pursuit of higher education in the sciences. The recipient of this award is also eligible for future internship programs that the company may offer. This award has a value of $2,000.00.

    The C.A. Gatlin Scholarship

    Established in 2015 to honor long-time member C.A Gatlin. This award has a value of $2000.00.

    Other Scholarships

    Additional scholarships are available from the Rubber Division, ACS and other local rubber groups via the Rubber Division scholarship page.

    Eligibility for Awards

    Requirement John D. Dodd/SRG Endowment/C.A. Gatlin LORD Corporation
    Applicant must be sponsored by a member of the Southern Rubber Group X X
    Applicant must submit a high school transcript X X
    Applicant must have maintained Honor Roll status throughout high school X
    Applicant must submit SAT/ACT scores X
    Applicant must be a full-time candidate for a degree at an accredited four-year college or university X X
    Applicant's declared major must be in the sciences. An acceptance letter must be presented in order to recieve the award. X
    Applicant must perform community service, volunteer work, and/or research associated with the desired field of study X
    Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher X
    Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor or an adult that has worked with the applicant X
    Recipient must maintain good academic standing during the first semester of college in order to receive the second half of the award. This is defined as an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher. X
